Dell Technologies World 2019

VirtuIT

A great day 1 in the books from Dell Technologies world in Las Vegas! The day was filled with training sessions, huge announcements from Dell EMC, and incredibly knowledgeable industry professionals that we had the opportunity to connect with. The two main goals at Dell Technologies World for us are to always:

  1. Learn a lot and network with industry leading partners/professionals
  2. Bring that knowledge back to our customers and add value to their IT infrastructure

Our technical and sales team started the day by breaking out into general sessions, the dell team does an outstanding job of providing a full menu of trainings for their partners to take advantage of.

These technical training sessions are a great way to learn about new feature releases and further discuss the value-add that the solution brings to end users. In addition to these training sessions, Dell EMC has stations set up where ‘hands-on labs’ can be utilized. These labs allow users to test out the functionality and features of the product and greatly complement the training sessions. We had the opportunity to talk to Sara Nouh from Egypt about the benefits of Dell EMC hands-on labs.

From that point, we attended a general session where we heard from Technology leaders such as Michael Dell, Patrick Gelsinger, & Satya Nadella to name a few.

Dell EMC came out with two major announcements that will greatly benefit our customers.

This new cloud infrastructure solution will make hybrid cloud environments much easier to deploy and manage. For current VMware users, this cloud offering allows you to use similar tools to deploy your cloud solution. “We’re thrilled to see the momentum and customer interest from the VMware perspective,” VMware CEO Pat Gelsinger stated. “They want this hybrid solution. We’re looking forward to getting this into the hands of customers and giving them that.”

This modern approach will enable a full end-to-end offering for your devices. The unified workspace enables you to deploy, secure, manage, & support your end user devices. A seamless and complete desktop as a service offering is here! Shankar Iyer, Senior Vice President and General Manager for end user computing at VMware stated that the offering “will radically change end-user computing and help IT teams reduce costs by enabling a move away from high-touch processes to a modern management approach”. We also got the chance to connect with the Director of Dell EMC Certifications. Engineers can take tests and training for free during the Dell Technologies world conference. This gives them the opportunity to test out their knowledge and improve upon their skillset where needed.

After a day of sessions and training, we headed over to the loyalty lounge to connect with team members and relax for a minute. Dell always puts out great displays that showcases the innovative mindset that inspires what they strive for with all their technology.
